Beckham's Kitchen, An afternoon at the Ronald McDonald House

Last fall I was asked to photograph the Ronald McDonald House's giant annual fundraiser, The Red Shoe Rendezvous.  It was such an honor to be able to donate my time to such an awesome cause.....not to mention I had a great time!  It seems I didn't mess the task up too bad and got an amazingly sweet response to my work and was immediately asked to return next year.

The super amazing and always consistently awesomely sweet, Allison of the Ronald McDonald House, contacted me a few months ago and asked if would donate some more of my time and document the dedication ceremony of the newly remodeled kitchen at the Ronald McDonald House here in Richmond.  For those who were unaware, the house is used to, "provide a home away from home for children receiving medical treatment and their families." (borrowed from their site:) )  These families, in the most unfortunate and tragic of situations, are given a home away from home while caring for their ill children.  During both these last events, I have gotten to hear how much this means to people while going through some of the worst times of their lives.  The donation for the remodeling was made in the name of Beckham, a young boy and  former patient of the Children's Hospital in honor of his bravery.  It was incredibly touching to be there and left me with a super big heart that day.

I was so happy to be able to provide these amazing families with memories and family photos.  Here are some images of the day!  (I have intentionally left out the family portraits and such....those are just for them!)

This super amazing cake was designed, created and DONATED by the amazing G Sweets!  It was custom created after all of Beckham's favorite things.  As you can tell, the kid has awesome taste.  Soccer, Mario Cart, Donkey Kong and Star Wars!

All of the paintings were custom painted for the Ronald McDonald house as well.  These were all painted by Lauren Gompers....check her out!!!

There were SOOO many adorable children running around and they were having such a blast, especially with the balloons!

A photo of photos of the kitchen in the kitchen.

Ronald giving me a helping hand....or two.

I just LOVE this moment.
